ARCHANGEL RAPHAEL
Archangel Raphael, whose name means “Through God He Heals”, is one of the most well known Archangels. He is quite busy because he is God’s Healing Angel. Missy calls on Raphael more often than any other Archangel for that very reason. Missy also enjoys his light-hearted nature. He loves to laugh and to make others laugh as well. After all, laughter is the best medicine.
Raphael has a tall, slender but muscular build. His deep, dark brown curls are Missy’s favorite feature to paint. Missy has seen Raphael both with and without facial hair. She included his facial hair in her first portrait but not in later portraits. Even Archangels like to change up their look sometimes.
Healing is just one of Raphael’s qualities. You can also call on Raphael for help with Harmony, Humor, Abundance, Creativity, Truth, and Vision. You may have noticed that the Archangels often have overlapping qualities. Each one brings their own particular energy to each area of focus and you can call on more than one of them to take advantage of their different perspectives.

This scene was inspired by Angel paintings from the Renaissance Period. Missy does not actually witness Angels floating in the clouds like Grecian gods in robes but she had fun placing Raphael in such a setting for this portrait.
