GHOST COLLECTION
A Ghost is a Soul/Person that didn’t cross over to Heaven after their death. They are instead living between dimensions. They may have been confused, afraid of being judged by God, or they may have simply chosen to stay and watch over someone or someplace on Earth from this space between worlds (what Missy calls a Caretaker Ghost). Missy can see Ghosts just like any other spirit and she enjoys painting and sculpting these spirits.
While some Ghost Portraits are commissioned and not available for purchase, some are offered for sale in Missy’s Art Shop as originals and/or prints. Sign up for Missy’s Mailing List for early access to new releases, special offers, and more.
If you have a Ghost in your home or place of business that you would like Missy to paint, simply sign up for her Art Commission Wait List.

This Mixed-Media portrait on canvas depicts Tate Wachiwi, a young Sioux Caretaker Ghost in Shakopee, MN. This young ghost spends much of her time on the grounds of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. She has been walking between worlds for 100 years or longer and she watches over the land and the people. When the festival sprung up in the 1970’s, she was mesmerized by it all. She has been spotted many times over the years by employees and patrons. “Tate Wachiwi” is the first painting in a series of three Tate portraits.

This Mixed-Media portrait on canvas depicts Tate Wachiwi, a young Sioux Caretaker Ghost in Shakopee, MN. This young ghost spends much of her time on the grounds of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. To set up this “spooky” night scene with props, Missy used a 3D sculpting program. The scene she created served as a reference image while painting. This helped her with both perspective and lighting accuracy.
“The Ribbon Collector” is the second painting in a series of three Tate portraits. Tate loves the ribbons and other fun elements on the costumes people wear to the festival. Occassionally, she will reach out to admire these accessories close up. Missy has captured her in this very act in this portrait.

This Mixed-Media portrait on canvas depicts Tate Wachiwi, a young Sioux Caretaker Ghost in Shakopee, MN. This young ghost spends much of her time on the grounds of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Both digital and acrylic paint mediums were used to create this portrait.
“The Caretaker” is the third painting in a series of three Tate portraits. Here Missy wanted to explore Tate’s interesting situation of having died young and essentially frozen in time physically yet aware of the changing world around her, she continues to grow wiser. Missy has used Tate’s clothing to show how she both honors her roots and embraces the modern world.
