Protect your Emeralds from bumps and knocks that could chip the stone or the setting.
Do not shower with your Emeralds on and avoid contact with lotions, other beauty products, and household cleaners.
Cleaning & Inspection
Clean with a lint free cloth or gently scrub with soft brush and warm soapy water. Avoid using commercial jewelry cleaners on your Emerald jewelry.
Have your Emerald jewelry cleaned and inspected for loose stones and damage twice a year. Your jeweler can tighten any loose prongs or fix any other problems with the setting to make sure your Emerald stays secure and protected.
Ultrasonic or steaming methods are not to be used on Emerald as they can remove the oils that these stones are treated with and cause damage.
Emeralds may need to be re-oiled by a professional jeweler every few years.
Storage
Store your Emerald jewelry separately from the rest of your jewelry as it can scratch other pieces in your collection or easily be scratched by them. Missy suggests purchasing small individual jewelry pouches or a jewelry box with individual compartments to safely organize your jewelry.
