While the toughest stone at 10.0 on the Mohs hardness scale, it is best to protect your Diamond from bumps and knocks that could chip the setting or even the stone.
Cleaning & Inspection
Clean with a lint free cloth or gently scrub with soft brush and warm soapy water or a jewelry cleaner.
Have your Diamond jewelry deep cleaned and inspected for loose stones and damage yearly. Your jeweler can tighten any loose prongs or fix any other problems with the setting to make sure your stone stays secure and protected.
They will usually use ultrasonic or steaming methods to deep clean the piece which is generally safe for Diamonds.
Storage
Store your Diamond jewelry separately from the rest of your jewelry as it can easily scratch other stones and metals. Missy suggests purchasing small individual jewelry pouches or a jewelry box with individual compartments to safely organize your jewelry.
